Operating on a shoe-string budget and utilizing many community volunteers, the VDRC offers assistance to people with disabilities in meeting their needs, including financial supports, employment, and housing. We are also the sole source of accessible parking placards in the Greater Victoria area. Your legacy gift will add financial stability to our organization, and help us to help our clients to live dignified and independent lives on into the future.
A bequest (gift) to the VDRC in your will is one of the best ways of leaving a legacy that will continue to support people with disabilities. Unfortunately, many Canadians do not have an up-to-date will. Taking care of an estate without a will is often costly and time-consuming, and of course may not properly reflect your wishes and priorities.
A well-planned will also maximizes the value of your estate by reducing the amount of taxes owed.
Remembering the Victoria Disability Resource Centre in your will, or making us the beneficiary of your life insurance policy, RRSP or RRIF, annuity, or trust, is a highly effective way of supporting our on-going work for people with disabilities. With a planned gift, you’ll make an impact that will last for years.
IMPORTANT: In order to ensure that your estate gift will be carried out, it is essential to include our correct organization name and address in your will:
Victoria Disability Resource Centre
817A Fort St
Victoria, BC V8W 1H6
A gift made in memory of a loved one offers a caring way to remember the person, while contributing to the lives of people living with a disability in the Greater Victoria area. We will send a letter to a designated relative or friend, notifying him or her of your thoughtful memorial gift, and a tax receipt will be mailed to you.
Honour a loved one by making a gift to the VDRC. By making a donation in your loved one’s name you will be effectively helping people with disabilities to live independent and dignified lives. We will send a card to the person you wish to honor and a tax receipt will be mailed to you.
If you are interested in leaving a legacy or memorial gift, please contact our executive director, David Hosking at 250-595-0044, ext 107, or our office manager Neil Dickie at ext 102.
