Three-part series: The Importance of Healthy Communication in Relationships (including the one we have with ourselves)
The VDRC and t6talk have partnered to deliver these amazing sessions that discuss healthy communication in relationships and when dating.
This is a three-part series delivered by Zoom:
Part 1: Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST
Part 2: Wednesday, August 24th, 2022, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST
Part 3: Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM PST
Part 1: During this initial session, we will discuss 3 types of communication: passive, aggressive and assertive. We will provide examples of each and apply them to how we communicate with ourselves and with others. We will open the floor to any participant who would like to share their experiences with the group.
Part 2: Relationships are important. The relationship we have with ourselves is the most important. It all starts with us. How we communicate with ourselves. How disability impacts our sense of self. Join us for a candid discussion on how we might approach the relationship we have with ourselves. We encourage people to share their experiences if they feel comfortable in doing so.
Part 3: During this session, we will look at how our relationship with ourselves impacts our relationships with others. The others may include intimate partners, friends, family, care partners and those we meet day to day. If you have something to share, we would like to hear from you.
