Beacon’s Empathetic and Aspirational Method of Service (BEAMS) – Beacon Community Services
BEAMS is a unique pilot project designed to assist community members eligible to work in BC, who may be experiencing barriers to employment due to mental health, unstable housing, and/or substance use.
The BEAMS Program Offers:
Free access to:
- Computers and printers
- Drop-In Centre activities
- Employment Readiness Workshops
- Refreshments, snacks and light meals
Support may include:
- Computer Skills
- Food and transportation
- Indigenous Elder cultural support
- Life-skills and personal wellness support
- One-on-one employment coaching and planning
- Paid group work experiences
- Short-term training and certification
- Support for referrals and applications to community agencies and programs
- Volunteer experiences
Participant Eligibility:
BEAMS supports individuals who are eligible to work in BC and are experiencing any of the following barriers to employment:
- Housing insecurity/homelessness
- Mental or physical health issues that impact employment
- Substance use management issues
BEAMS offers continuous intake, to register call 778-265-2585 to make an appointment or stop by during drop-in hours.
BEAMS Drop-In Centre is open:
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00pm-7:00pm
